Meet Raine and Lilith (bonded sisters)

Raine & Lilith (bonded sisters)

These sisters are four months old and are two of the most stunning, personality-filled kittens
imaginable. They were born into a feral colony and came into foster care at 8 weeks. They were fearful
at first but 100% gentle and have never had even a tiny accident outside the litter box!

Raine (grey with white markings) is hard to describe unless you see her in action. Hold her and she
melts and starts up a huge purr. She rolls around in your lap, trying to find a position where every bit of
her is pressed into you. She especially likes lying on her back with curled paws pointed skywards. Her
foster family now calls her “the fuzzy potato” because she plumped up so nicely and constantly wants to
be sprawled lazily across a couch or lap. Her coat is cottony, fluffy, and oh-so soft.

Lilith (all silver/grey) is a bit more active than her sister. When held, Lilith will relax and enjoy pets but
also wants to look around and monitor the room. She is fierce at play with any flying toy and the way to
her heart is with tasty treats. There’s something about her expression…she seems to KNOW THINGS.
Lilith’s coat is special – it has a silky reflective quality and her color seem to change from soft grey to
shiny, translucent silver in different lighting.

These kittens are not “shy” but potential adopters should know: we believe they had a gentle feral
mama cat who taught them to show caution around humans. Although they now like and trust their
foster family, they sometimes forget and huddle up to hide or give a tiny hiss to say “leave me alone,
human.” This is happening less every day and we know exactly how to overcome it: flying toys and
TREATS. The girls are on the verge of forgetting their old patterns completely and we don’t want to
delay them finding their new families! They just need adopters who will spend some time every day,
doing the fun activities that we know work to teach them trust and confidence. Their bond with their
humans will be even stronger because of this little extra effort over the first few weeks.

catnerd_house. (There is an amazing video of Raine doing her melt and playing pattycake with her
foster dad – don’t miss that cuteness!)

Raine and Lilith have been foster roommates with a middle-school-aged human child, so we know they
get on well with older kids who understand cat etiquette. They show reasonable reactions towards the
adult resident cats in their foster home but haven’t met other animals. Because of their history, they
will likely not be placed in a home with boisterous dogs or young children who aren’t experienced with
cats. (If your family is more on the wild side…please check out their siblings Eda & King!)
