Meet Popeye

Popeye is a purr bucket, loves other cats, and is just the sweetest little guy! He adores balls that jingle, danglers with feathers, and any toys with bells. His vet and foster mommy say he will be an amazing pet!

CHARACTERISTICS: Gentle, Frisky, Good-natured, Friendly, Affectionate, Easy-going, Likes Rubbing, Likes Being Scratched, Purrs A Lot / Always Purring, Can be held BUT on only own their terms, Bashful / Shy, Very Playful

If I was on a dating app, my pickup line would be: Small but mighty, with a whole lot of purrs waiting for you!

In a human companion, I’m looking for: Someone who will love me and accept my spunky attitude.

In an animal companion (house-mate), I'm looking for: Someone who will be my friend and not bully or beat me up because I’m a small little guy.

Popeye was ill when he was rescued and was nurtured back to health, and even though his kitten life was tough at first, he was a fighter and overcame illness.

Despite my less-than-ideal start in life, I have flourished in FAN's care and am now: A survivor. When I was rescued, I was sick with an infection, and the vet thought I might lose my eye, but my foster mommy took good care of me. I am finding my personality, and even though I’m little, I think I’m 10 feet tall.

++++++++++++++++++++

We DO usually require adopting two (2) kittens of this age together, so they have company when you’re not around. This offers them a buddy to play with and can help keep the mischief to a minimum. Please let us know if you would like to meet some of this kitten's siblings and friends.

It’s important to set reasonable expectations when bringing any new cat home. We offer the Rule of Threes.
3 DAYS: To decompress
3 WEEKS: To get familiar with your house and its routines
3 MONTHS: To settle in and feel like they’re home

Adding a new animal to your household can be a whirlwind of an experience for many owners. There is a lot of change happening for your new cat, so it’s not uncommon for the cat’s behavior to change accordingly. They may be acting in ways you’ve never seen before, and this can be discouraging.

These “rules” are estimated marker points where you may see behavioral changes from your new cat.
SEE https://www.feralaffairs.org/faq/ to learn how long it may take to acclimate your cat to their new home.

All our adoptable cats and kittens are:
— spayed / neutered
— vaccinated (rabies & FVRCP)
— microchipped, if they get lost (and found), they can easily be scanned and reunited with you!
— tested for FIV & FeLV diseases
— parasite-free (dewormer & flea prevention)
— provided additional veterinarian visits, if needed for any health issues
— conveyed to you with all medical records at time of adoption
