Briggs Animal Adoption Center's Adoption Policy
The National Humane Education Society’s Adoption Program is a result of over 60 years’ experience of working with companion animals and the adopting public. Our primary goal is to place animals in loving homes while providing support to make the transition from shelter to home as easy and rewarding for both our pets and the adopters! Our adoption staff is looking forward to helping you find a pet who will bring you years of unconditional love. All dogs and cats have been spayed or neutered and have received their necessary immunizations. As a part of our process, we select the “best fit” for our animals. Please note that we do not offer same-day adoptions. Adoption Fees are displayed on each animal’s information page. To begin our adoption process, please come by, fill out respective cat or dog application forms, or call 304-724-6558 to speak to an adoption counselor at the Briggs Animal Adoption Center. Link to our cat adoption application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NHES/Cat Link to our dog adoption application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NHES/Dog Questions: email adopt@nhes.org Part of our adoption process includes, but is not limited to: All applicants must be 21 years of age. If you already have dogs, we require a dog-to-dog meeting to help ensure compatibility. This meet and greet will be scheduled by our adoption counselors once your application has been fully processed and approved.
