Pip's Story

Pip is a 5-year-old male domestic shorthair available for adoption at CCHS! Pip came here due to not getting a long with another feline friend in the home and we believe it would be best he's your one and only. Pip has a lot of funny quirks, such as trying to fit himself inside boxes half his size! He loves to chat up his human companions through the door, and greets you with many meows. Since Pip is packed full of energy and likes to play hard, we think he'd do best with children over 15 in the home. Whilst Pip loves to have fun, he also follows that with some snuggle time and enjoys being in your personal space. <br/><br/>If you think this dashing tabby boy would become the purrfect fit for you, stop by and meet with Pip!<br/><br/>Pip is a STAFF FAVORITE pet! Here's what Adoption Team Leader, Maiah, has to say about him:<br/><br/>"When Pip originally came here our friendship started off slow. Since then, he's become my little buddy. Pip reminds me of myself which is why we've developed such a bond! He's confident, energetic, and sometimes a little hangry. When I have some free time, I thoroughly enjoy sitting in his room with him curled up in my lap or playing with wands toys. Now every time I come into his line of sight, he sits impatiently at his door and yells at me for attention. Since spending time with Pip, I have found out some of his very funny quirks. I decided to give Pip a new toy, and like every other cat; he decided to try and shove himself into the box a quarter of his size. If he fits, he is determined to sit. If you're looking for a cat that will bring endless funny moments to your home, please spend some time with Pip! When he's not making your sides hurt from laughter, he enjoys trying to turn himself into a whole circle in your lap."

Champaign County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
The first step toward adoption is coming to the shelter to meet the animals. Once you have decided on an animal you would like to adopt, you will be asked to fill out an adoption application followed by a brief interview with one of our adoption counselors. If you prefer to fill out an Adoption Application online ahead of time, please visit the CCHS website. While submitting an application online will save some time during your visit to the shelter, submitting an application online does not place a "hold" on an animal, nor is it a guarantee of adoption. It generally takes 24-72 hours for the adoption staff to complete processing applications, so we do not send animals home the same day. MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS: CCHS accepts up to three applications per pet and priority for adoption is given to the first family to submit an application. If interested in a specific animal, we recommend calling the shelter prior to your visit for more information on their status. Please bring a valid photo ID with you for your visit to the shelter. You must be at least 18 years of age to adopt from CCHS. Hours for Adoptions: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM Saturday and Sunday: 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM The shelter is closed on Tuesdays and major holidays.
