Patience's Story

Hi, I’m Patience!

I’m a beautiful patch-tabby girl who has been waiting over a year in my foster home, hoping someone will finally choose me. I promise—I’m worth the wait.

My story didn’t start easy. I was rescued from a tree after my previous owner put me outside. But even after everything, I’m still gentle, loving, and ready to trust again. I’m just looking for my person… the one who will make me feel safe forever.

I have a calm, comforting presence that makes me the perfect companion for quiet nights, cozy corners, and peaceful homes. I love being near my humans—sitting on my foster mom’s lap, helping her “work” on the computer, or simply keeping her company. I’m also an expert-level biscuit maker, in case you were wondering.

I enjoy the simple things in life: watching the world from the window, savoring my favorite snacks, and rolling happily in catnip like it’s my personal spa day. I’m affectionate but not demanding, happy to cuddle and also perfectly content to relax nearby.

I’m a queen who thrives in a calm home with adults or older, respectful kids. I would love to be your one and only, but I could also share my kingdom with another cat—as long as they’re mellow and let me take the lead.

If you’re looking for a chill, cuddly, food-loving best friend who will stick by your side, I might just be your perfect match. I’ve been waiting patiently… maybe I’ve been waiting for you.

Patience is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.

Adoption fees are as follows: $175 for a single cat or kitten, $225 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

Animal House of South East Michigan, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Our adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten $195 for a pair of cats or kittens Please note that we do not do same day adoptions and all adoption fees are non-refundable. AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We are also flexible if more time is needed to determine if its the right fit. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
