Olivia was originally rescued as a kitten in Waterloo, Iowa by Waverly Pet Rescue back in July 2014 when she was a kitten. We fully vetted her and she was adopted in August 2014. Her owner can no longer keep her. She is not getting along with his other cat anymore. He has tried many things and gives up. He feels she would happier in a home with no other cats. She is living in a foster home. Olivia is up to date on shots, tested FeLV / FIV negative, and spayed.

Olivia is now about 9-3/4 years old as of January 2024. Olivia is a sweet girl once she gets to know you. It does take her a long time to trust a new person.. She is full of energy and loves to play. What a great way to de-stress after a long day of work...come home and play with Olivia! She wants attention when you are near. She loves people and loves to be petted. She should do well in a home with older kind children. She has never been around dogs.

I would not say that she is a lap cat. She will lay next to on couch to get pets or get under a blanket at my feet. When in my computer chair she likes to lay on the ottoman. I have never had problems with her being picked up. Likes to follow around to get attention. Will meet me at the door when coming home from work (if she is not sound asleep) She likes to sleep on the foot of the bed, but will lay next to me when falling asleep. Otherwise she like it lay in clothes basket. She also love sitting in the window and being in my sun porch. Or hide in extra bedroom and sleep on that bed during the day. She like puff ball toys, small mouse toys, or string toys that she can jump at. Likes tall scratching posts. She will go after laser pointer but will loss interest fast. Loves playing in boxes.

Oliviaweighs 16 pounds. This is too large and she does need to lose some weight. Maybe about 4 pounds? You can ask your vet for sure once you adopt her. She will need an adopter willing to help her with slowly losing weight.

Olivia's adoption fee is $95.00.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $250 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
