Meet NYLES

NYLES is a 5 yr old BLACK DOMESTIC MEDIUMHAIR. He has gold eyes and beautifully colored fur which is shiny black but with deep russet brown undertones in the sunlight. He has a few small patches of white on his chest. He is tall and lanky, weighing in at 11lbs. He is completely vetted, which includes neutering, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccines, mircrochipping, and deworming. He is 100% with the litterbox, and has his claws. He is listed as special needs because he tested Fiv positive, but Felv negative.

This is not a death sentence! Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is a virus specific to the cat family. Dogs and humans can not get it. Fiv cats have a normal life span, and Fiv can only be transferred to other cats by deep, penetrating bite wounds. So if given slow introductions (which should always be done) with resident cats, to make sure they get along and there is no fighting, they are perfectly fine coexisting with non fiv cats. If you want to be 100% sure, adopt them with fellow fiv cats or dogs. To find out more info, go to:

This poor guy was a family cat, but when the family moved, he was left behind and put outside. After some time, he was rescued by one of the local residents, who noticed he wasn’t coping well on his own. He was so happy to be back inside. He was so thin and covered in fleas, and developed flea dermatitis because of it. The scaly skin and fleas are completely gone now, but his fur was left sparse in places. He gets Omega 3 fish oil daily to help bring back that beautiful coat. In a few months, he’ll have wonderful, thicker fur again!

This guy is quirky funny! He must have been in a family that had dogs because has a few dog like tendencies. He likes to stand on your lap and kisses you on the lips. He doesn’t bite but likes to mouth your arm, will fetch sometimes, and will play with wand toys for a little while but really enjoys pleasing you. He loves to greet his foster parents at his foster door, standing on his back legs with his low meowing, instead of barking. Lol He’s a pretty quiet boy otherwise. He also likes to jump up and put his front feet on your thighs when you’re standing. He’ll eat some food, come by you and walk around and over you, go back for a couple more bites, then come back to you for more attention. He’s a silly dude! He has a zest for life and a curious nature. He wants to be around and by you, rub up against your arms or legs, and be involved with whatever you are doing, and then he’ll go off and do his own thing, which involves exploring, and has already learned to pop open closet doors, because he’s just curious to see what’s behind the door. Lol He loves his yeowww banana, catnip pickle, laser toy, wand toys, crinkle tunnel, and cat tree. He also loves to get groomed with his rubber palm brush, petting and shoulder rubs. He really enjoys being on the highest level of the cat tree, taking a nap, enjoying the sun, or watching the birds outside.

His fosterparents think he would be good with other confident, but not dominant cats. If he gets hissed at, he backs away and goes back to playing. A timid cat would probably find his goofiness and busyness too much. We also think he would do very well with cat friendly dogs.
