Northstar - the guiding light - with his giant green eyes is mystical cat. He and his sister, Aurora, were abandoned by their family. We believe that they were born late in 2022. Northstar is quiet and shy. He loves his calm and peaceful sister and would like to find a home where they both could be themselves. He would like a family that is quiet and content. Northstar was very frightened by the abandonment of his family, but once a new family gives him a safe place to trust again - he will shine as bright as ever!

All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org

When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition.

Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed.

If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only.
