Nadia's Story

Meet Nadia: A Tiny Russian Blue Named for Hope...and a Little Bit of Good Luck

Nadia is a beautiful Russian name that means "hope." We can't think of a more fitting name. Because if there was ever a kitten whose story reminds us that hope has a funny way of showing up exactly when you need it, it's this little silver-blue sweetheart.

Nadia and her siblings were discovered tucked safely between the slats of a wooden pallet behind a government housing apartment in Statesville. They were only three weeks old—tiny, frightened, and much too young to be without their mother after she was humanely trapped.

Their foster immediately prepared for the glamorous life of raising neonatal kittens: bottles every few hours, sleepless nights, and constantly smelling like kitten formula and kitten yuckiness.

Then...hope arrived. As it turned out, she'd also trapped the kittens' incredibly friendly grandmother. Grandma took one look at those hungry babies and essentially said, "You've done enough, dear. I'll take it from here." She promptly adopted the entire litter, became their full-time wet nurse, and raised them like the seasoned professional she clearly was. The babies flourished, Grandma earned Employee of the Month, and the foster happily retired from the overnight feeding shift.

Those first few days of bottle feeding gave Nadia an extra-special appreciation for people. She's wonderfully affectionate, gentle, and happiest when she's close to her humans. Whether she's purring in your lap, following you from room to room, or quietly supervising your day, Nadia believes life is simply better together. And let's be honest. Have you ever seen a kitten this elegant? With her soft blue-gray coat, sparkling eyes, and plush fur, Nadia looks like she walked straight out of a fairy tale. Russian Blue kittens have a reputation for being intelligent, loyal, and deeply devoted to their people, and Nadia is already proving the stereotype true.

Like any proper kitten, she also enjoys:
- Turning crumpled paper into world-class entertainment.
- Chasing toys with Olympic-level determination.
- Racing through the house during the nightly Zoomie Olympics.
- Falling asleep five minutes later like absolutely nothing happened.

Nadia has been fully vetted and is ready for her forever family. She has been:
Spayed, Vaccinated, Treated for fleas and intestinal parasites, Combo tested negative for FeLV & FIV

One thing is important to us—and to Nadia: She needs another kitten or young playful cat in her new home. She's never known life without feline companions to wrestle, cuddle, groom, and explore the world with, and we'd love to keep it that way. Kittens are happier, healthier, and much less likely to redecorate your ankles when they have a buddy to burn off all that kitten energy. Nadias BFF is her sister, Coco Puff, who would complete the perfect pair!

Nadia's name means hope, and that's exactly what she represents. Hope that even the tiniest lives can be saved. Hope that one unexpected grandmother can change the ending of a story. And hope that somewhere out there is the family that's been waiting for a soft gray shadow to follow them home.
Could that family be yours?
