Introducing MORTY! This adorable 7 year old Persian male cat is in need of a home where he can be the only cat...he is the type that needs to be the King of his castle! If you are looking for a single kitty to share your home with you as a companion, Morty may be the cat for you. Morty is currently in foster care in Northern NJ.<br/><br/> Unfortunately Morty was surrendered by his owner when he could no longer take care of him. Morty is a sweet, handsome boy, who loves his people, and sometimes plays like kitten and can be quite entertaining! Morty has learned to take walks on a leash just like a dog! (see video)!<br/><br/>Morty is currently in a difficult situation since the home he is now has multiple cats which he is not used to. This stresses Morty out leading to challenging behaviors that were not seen in his previous home when he was the only cat. He should not be in a home with other cats or young children (under 16 yo) since younger children can also stress out a cat like Morty that has never had exposure to them previously. <br/><br/>Due to the fact that we know Morty much better now, we are looking for a home that has NO other cats whether it is an adopter or a foster home, we just need to find him a place where he is the only cat. Morty does like cat friendly dogs and does well sharing his home with a canine friend as long as they are respectful of his boundaries!<br/><br/>Morty (as all of the cats for adoption) has been thoroughly vetted prior to adoption including spay/neuter surgery, fully vaccinated (rabies and distemper), blood tested negative for FIV and FLeV, microchipped and treated for all parasites. <br/><br/>All adoption applications for any cat must be submitted online;<br/><br/>https://savingfancycats.org/adoption-application<br/> <br/>We read every application that is submitted and it can take us 2-4 days to respond to most applicants. If we believe you may be a potential match for the cat(s) we will respond to you via email. This email will detail all the next steps required in order for you to be officially approved as an adopter. Our email can easily be flagged as spam/junk so please check those folders for our response. <br/><br/>We will ask all potential adopters who pass the first step to submit/complete the following;<br/>-2+ personal references<br/>-1+ veterinary reference<br/>-home interior photos/videos or in person tour<br/>-your building's pet policy from management or your landlord (if you rent)<br/>-1+ alternative designated caretaker(s) for the cat(s) <br/>-scheduled phone interview with a member of our team <br/><br/>*General inquiries about any cat cannot be responded to without an application submitted first.
