MORTIMER (Neutered!) Tabby & Domestic Short Hair Mix Crossville, TN

As orange cats go, you could say that MORTIMER is a light orange tabby rather than a dark orange. And boy oh, boy, is he a sweetheart! Staff has listed him at an estimated age of one year. He only weighs 7 pounds so that is probably accurate. Normal adult cats may have a healthy weight anywhere between that and 14 pounds, but he is still on the small side. He is affectionate and gentle - a true, darling! Even when he first arrived at the shelter he was calm and serene, and did not seem to be fearful about his surroundings. That is a good thing! It makes it easier on him and the staff to know that his needs are being met and that he is finding nothing to complain about at this point. Thanks to a partnership between the University of Tennessee and Cumberland County Animal Shelter, MORTIMER was neutered and received a rabies vaccine on Monday, February 12. As a result, he can go home the same day that he is adopted! Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared! That includes an adult size cat carrier with you to the adoption appointment in case you do decide to adopt him. No animal should be allowed to run freely in any vehicle. Especially an animal that you have have just adopted! Safety first!
