Momma (bonded with Gold)'s Story

Momma: Retired Teen Mom Seeking a Soft Landing—and Unlimited Churu Snacks

Hi, Im Momma. I'm only about one or two years old, but I've already raised five kittens, lived in a trailer park, and managed an entire household without so much as a résumé or a day off.

Living on your own outside is tough. Luckily a kind man made sure I had food after my babies were born, then helped my entire little family get to safety. Since arriving in foster care, I've been told repeatedly that I am the best momma. (I know.) I kept all five of my babies clean, cuddled, supervised, and reasonably civilized—which is no small accomplishment with kittens.

Now that my babies are weaned, I'm finally discovering what its like to be young myself. I've started playing with toys, relaxing on perches and beds, and exploring the possibility that life might include more than hunting for food and never-ending childcare. My retirement plan involves cozy beds, gentle people, and a generous Churu allowance.

I'm a bit shy with new people and need a cat-savvy adopter who will let me build up trust at my own pace. Though I'm a bit reserved in a new situation, I have never hissed or swatted - I'm a gentle soul who simply needs time to feel safe. Once I trust you, though, I turn into a complete mush. The fastest route to my heart is through a tube of Churu. Frankly, its an excellent trust-building tool, and I see no reason to pretend otherwise. (Have I mentioned yet that I love Churus?)

One of my kittens still needs me: my sweet, shy orange boy, Gold. He missed me terribly after being weaned, so our foster reunited us, and that works well for me. (He was always my favorite, but don't tell anybody I said that.) I continue to groom him, cuddle him, and remind him that he's braver than he thinks. Gold and I are bonded and are looking for a forever home together. I'll help him feel secure, and he'll be there for me to play with and simply enjoy our new indoor lives.

I spent the beginning of my life taking wonderful care of my babies. Now I'm ready for someone to take care of me—and to give Gold and me the safe, loving home we both deserve.

My ideal home would be quiet and patient, with no small kids or other craziness that would impede Gold and myself from feeling safe and secure. If you've already got another young, outgoing kitty who would like some new friends, even better! Give us a little time, we hope to become a loving part of your family.

Fitchburg Friends of Felines facilitates a foster to adopt program that places the intended adoptee with the potential adoptive family. This ensures that your feline companion is the perfect fit as well as provides support as you both transition into your new life together.

You can fill out an adoption application here:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe1685w60NjfU2eeE55Cd57TAaEZU7bERjyY825EMto48sTQw/viewform

Please reach out to Fitchburg Friends of Felines directly at 978-222-3170 or fitchburgfriendsoffelines@gmail.com with questions. Fitchburg Friends of Felines, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Potential adopters are required to have a solid character reference, vet reference, and a site visit which can be conducted virtually. Due to MA regulations, we cannot intake pets from out of state. We offer a foster to adopt program to guarantee the intended kitty is a good fit for your family. We also require that all adopters agree to return the kitty should the adopter no longer be able to care for him or her in the future, or an agreed to person is identified to continue care for this kitty. We are not a brick and mortar; all available cats are kept in foster homes. Therefore, we would need time to schedule a visit to meet a kitty. We are happy to travel to match the perfect kitty for your family. Our adoption fees are normally $250 per cat, $350 for specialty breeds or exotics, and $50 less per kitty if interested in multiples. For specific questions, or for an adoption application, please feel free to reach out to us directly: fitchburgfriendsoffelines@gmail.com or call our hotline: 978-222-3170
