Mittens's Story

Mittens was surrendered to the San Diego Humane Society because his owner was no longer able to keep him due to housing restrictions. He is a super-friendly, affectionate boy who does well with other cats, and, as you can see in the video, he loves being petted!

Mittens recently went on a three-week Frosted Fling, giving him a break from our Frosted Feline cattery and the chance to experience life in a loving home again while he waits for his forever family. We're grateful to his foster mom for opening her home to Mittens and helping us learn more about him. She shares:

"Mittens was a perfect gentleman during his visit. Here's what I learned about him:

Mittens loves to be near his person. He will climb on your chest and fall asleep with you when you take a nap.
He uses his litter box.
Mittens is a great eater and actually gained some much-needed weight at my house.
He is calm and kind.
He ignored my dogs as they did him. Mittens might have been a little fearful at first but did not act out.
Mittens spent most of his time in a safe room where he had his own litter box, food bowl, water fountain, scratching post, toys, and cat tree.
Like every cat, Mittens has his limits. He was bitten by a dog on his rear flank, and he does not like to be touched there.
Mittens let me groom him and clip his nails.

If I were in a position to adopt right now, I would absolutely welcome Mittens into my family. I think he would be the perfect addition to any home. However, because he is an older cat, I think a home without very small children would be best for him."

If you're looking for a loving feline companion, please consider giving Mittens the forever home he deserves.

To meet Mittens, please email:
placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
