3y 10lb Misty is a young adult declawed girl NO! We didn't do that, and wouldn't. She came in this way. In fact it's illegal now in NY but we will help out those who are:) She loves dogs and our guess is not so much other cats. She hasn't been around children so let's keep it that way only because she is shy initially in her new space and can play rough. Experienced cat adopter only. Please apply. NYC

Previous purrson has this to say about her: Misty is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, independent, and quiet. She has a medium activity level. When home with her owner she alternates between following them from room to room and staying in her favorite spot. She likes playing with balls, string, and chasing toys. She has been kept mostly indoors. Her diet consisted of only dry food. She scratches on a scratching post.

All our cats are in the NY area and can be adopted out of state. We do like to meet you so plan on picking up; if flying, in cabin only; in some cases we will help with transport.

Please note: kittens MUST be adopted in pairs or to households with age appropriate cat(s) to ensure proper socialization and companionship. NO exceptions! If you would prefer a solo cat, we are happy to recommend cats who would do best as solos. Cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/Felv tested, FVRCP and Rabies vaxed, and microchipped.

Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at cats@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application by Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too. Please come! And if you can't adopt, you can perhaps foster, volunteer, and of course, you can always donate!
