Meet Misty
Misty is a 9 year old female who is still getting used to shelter life. She will need a family to take it slow with her. A more quiet home would be best. She will need a home with another FeLV+ kitty or no other cats.
After coming to us, Misty was diagnosed with FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus), which is a retrovirus that only infects cats. FeLV could be transmitted from an infected cat to another cat with the transfer of saliva. Therefore we recommend FeLV cats should not share a home with a non FeLV cat. Cats with FeLV could possibly have a shorter life span, therefore we have listed Misty as special needs, and have waived her adoption fee. No special food or medicine is needed for her, she just needs to be kept inside, and get normal veterinary care.
