Mimi Scottish Fold Mahwah, NJ

Mimi was surrendered as a 10 month old kitten to the NYC shelter system (NYC ACC) last fall due to her medical condition and the costs involved... At that time Mimi required surgery to repair a prolapsing rectum, which her owners either could not or did not way to pay for.

Yes, Mimi is a purebred Scottish Fold female cat, although we do not have breeder's papers for her. She is petite in size and very sweet. She is gray and tan, with big golden brown eyes.

Mimi has been taken to multiple veterinary specialists under our care and they have identified and diagnosed her with a GI condition, IBS with constipation. This requires her to be on daily medication (which she easily takes orally) and a special Rx diet to help her digest proteins. Under our care, Mimi has had multiple procedures to correct her rectal prolapse and months of treatment has corrected the condition enough that she is finally ready for adoption. Of course, IBS is a chronic condition that she will have her entire life.

Mimi will ONLY be adopted to a home within 40 miles of our rescue's location in or around northern NJ.

We require her location to be close to the veterinarian that has overseen her care for the last year who happens to only be located in Paramus NJ. Mimi needs to be seen by this vet every 6 months for blood work to insure the daily medication she takes is not causing damage to her liver or other body organs.

Mimi has lived with other cats and tends to be at ease around them, but is not bonded to any one cat. She is friendly and happy to play, but is also quite independent. Mimi has her favorite sleeping spots and is overall very low maintenance kitty with low energy overall.

2. We have limited staff to manage the amount of adoption inquiries and individual questions we receive on all of our adoptable cats and therefore we do not respond to emails or phone calls about the cats posted unless there is an adoption application sent in first.
