Hello, my name is Maia! My name means brave warrior! I am a 4 year old Bengal and Tabby mix girl! I am so stunning with my unique spotted coat, my vibrant splashes of coloring, my extra long whiskers, and my big copper eyes! I really enjoy getting kitty massages! I am a special needs cat because I was born with a liver shunt, also called hepatic encephalopathy. That means that my liver doesn't filter out ammonia and I have to take two inexpensive meds- lactulose and metronidazole- and also eat a special diet of low fat protein, including 99% fat free turkey, canned clams (for taurine), with a side of rice. I really love this food! I am on the search for an adopter who thinks it is no big deal that I have special needs, and would like to give me my big break! I get along well with other cats and small dogs! I have been up for adoption my whole life and I try to remain hopeful that someone will want to adopt a cat who has been overlooked. I have not had any health issues, I just need my special diet and meds, much like many people. I am shy with new people and in new settings and I am in search of a quiet home with a patient adopter who understands that I can only eat my special diet.
