Magnus was a stray living on the streets in Waterloo, Iowa. We took him and his siblings in. They are living in a foster home. Magnus is now up to date on shots, tested FeLV / FIV negative, and neutered.

Magnus - 1 year old as of May 2020.

Magnus is a sweet fluffy boy with pretty blue eyes. He is all white but with gray ears. He is slightly shy in new situations but once he settles in, he is a love. He purrs easily and loves to be petted. He again is timid at first, but once he feels safe you see his true sweet personality. He has not been around children or dogs. I think he would be ok with older calm children, but would need a home with no young children. He does well with all other cats.

Kitty siblings: Scotland

6/8/20 UPDATE: Back in December, Magnus had what appeared to be a kitty cold. He was sniffling and sneezing one day. But within a couple of days, he went down hill quickly so got him into the vet right away. They put him on meds , did a full blood panel on him, and he stayed there for over 2 weeks so they could monitor him often. Once he got a little better, he went back to his foster home with medication and care instructions. All of us did not think he was going to make it, but he has made an amazing comeback and seems to be stable now and on his way to recovery.

His adopter will need to give him this medication once every other day. It is called Prednisolone and is $31. It will last him about 6 weeks.

Magnus has turned into a total lovebug. He loves to be petted and will flip to his side and show you his belly. He is very affectionate. He is not much of a fan of being picked up and held. But he loves to be with you and near you. He is a sweet sweet boy.

We were doing his meds once a day and now it is every other day. Even with his medication, he sometimes will still cough. He may eventually have another relapse, we just don't know. Or he may live a long and happy life with no issues on his medication. Maybe someday he can go off his meds. Maybe he will relapse and not recover. We just don't know. He does need an adopter that is on top of his health and will get him to a vet anytime he might need it. He is just so sweet that I thought maybe there is a home out there willing to love and care for him even with his special needs.

Magnus's adoption fee is $95.00.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to waverlypetrescue@mchsi.com

All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $250 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
