MAC's Story
Meet Mac, the 6 year old gray cat! Mac came into the shelter with another kitty, Conrad, after their owner no longer had the resources to care for them. Mac is a little more shy than his kennel-mate, and needs a little more time to get to know his people. He might be more of a solo guy who enjoys quiet naps and occasional playtime. His previous owner noted that his favorite activities were naps, cuddling, and playing with his fish on a string! While Mac has lived with Conrad, we are not sure if he’d do well with other cats, so its always good to do a slow and gradual introduction with resident pets. If you are looking for a companion to laze the day away with, come meet Mac! Mac is bonded to his BFF Conrad so they are looking for a home together. Both of their adoption fees has been sponsored by the Silver Whisker's Society, a fund aiming to help get often overlooked senior cats out of the shelter! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
