Luigi was a stray in Waverly, Iowa, that no one claimed. His finder is a WPR foster mom so they decided they could help him by fostering him. He is living in their home as a foster cat. Luigi is now up to date on shots, tested FeLV / FIV negative, and neutered.

Luigi is estimated to be 1 year old as of January 2022. Gray/White DSH.

Luigi is a playful and loving cat. He is very present and curious, and wants to be nearby wherever you are. He is super affectionate and likes to put his paws up on your shoulder and nuzzle your face. If there is a lap available he will try and claim it.

He is confident and gets along well with any new people, cats and dogs he meets. Good for any type of family except maybe very young children. He is a big cat and although gentle, he can get a bit bitey sometimes when he plays. He would do great with another active cat to play and pal around with. He would also be ok as an only cat if the family has lots of time and attention to give him. He doesn't like being completely alone for long periods of time, as he is a very social cat.

He had some issues with loose stools when first found as a stray and after ruling out anything more serious, it has been easily managed with a consistent diet meant for digestive care. He may need to maintain this or a similar diet as he seems to have a sensitive system.

Luigi's adoption fee is $95.00.

To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $250 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
