LILO*'s Story
Meet Lilo! This beautiful girl has become a shelter favorite since her arrival. Originally surrendered to the Shelter after her previous family simply wasn’t the best fit (the kids were allergic and Lilo wasn’t vibing with the other cats in the home), Lilo has been patiently waiting her turn for the purrrfect adopter to come along. Lilo’s ideal home would include: -a cat savvy adopter(s) that will read Lilo’s body language when interacting and give her space and time to decompress from the Shelter life as well as acclimate to the new home -a home as the only cat. Lilo has lived with a cat-savvy dog previously and has done well. A home with a dog may be a fit with a slow, thoughtful introduction. -indoor-outdoor access, if appropriate. Lilo has previously been allowed outside and enjoyed participating in the cat and mouse game. After an acclimation period, this type of set up may be appropriate for Lilo (or simply having a catio to experience safe, outdoor enrichment would be wonderful). Lilo has lived with children previously and has done well. Provided cat-savvy guardians are monitoring interactions, especially in the transition, as well as during times of play and excitement – a home with kids may be a fit. Could you be the Stitch to our Lilo? Come meet her right MEOW! Even better, her adoption fee is sponsored by a good Samaritan. That means more money for the fun things like toys, treats and comfy beds to get Lilo settled in her new home. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
