Meet Lexi

Female, about 1.5 years old, DSH

Personality: friendly, outgoing

Lexi's foster human has taken to calling her "Luna Lovegood. She is in her own world with some serious childlike wonder and makes her own fun. She loves to cuddle and lounge, but she will get the zoomies suddenly and become quite playful. Lexi loves chasing balls and wand toys, even if she is not the best at hunting or catching the toy. She will crack you up with her playful antics and her funny leaps and jumps. She is very sweet, but if you cross a boundary with her she can be quite spicy too and is not afraid to tell you what she does and does not like (but she's more talk than action). Lexi loves to greet you at the door, sleep under blankets, sunbathe, cuddle, and chase toys. She also loves empty boxes and Trader Joe's bags that she can treat as her secret hideout. She is mostly independent throughout the day, but she needs you to pet and love her daily. Apply today to meet Lexi!

If you are interested in meeting a cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).

Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter (unless specified). We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCKR.

City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.

Cat specific vetting: Rabies, FVRCP, Feline Leukemia vaccines, as age appropriate. Cats are tested for FIV and FeLV, when age appropriate, but not when born to a FELV/FIV negative mother in foster care.

Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
