Levi and Michonne are a bonded pair of talkative and outgoing kitties, perfectly imperfect and looking for a forever home!

Some cats like to pretend they are a different species, and that can certainly be true of Michonne and Levi. Michonne is light on her feet, and likes to perch on your shoulder like a parrot. She chirps hello, and meows as she moves around and tells you when she needs more attention. Big brother Levi looks a bit like a chubby bear cub, and he will perform on his back two legs for snacks. He has also gone for walks outside in a harness. With a parrotcat and a bearcat, you are well on your way to a circus act! These kitties have such joy and spirit, they will make you smile and laugh and create an instant family when you welcome them into your home.

Michonne is a 6 year old dilute tortie with silky soft medium length fur. She is curious, and brave, and wants to be a part of everything happening in the household. She will sit on your lap and ask for pets as soon as she meets you, and as she purrs and melts into your hand you can’t help but feel lucky. Her previous family had a toddler and a dog, and she interacted with them both gently and happily. Her greatest wish is to cuddle and purr on or beside you, and to be included in your daily activities. Michonne has striking light green eyes, one of which has been losing sight the past few years. She doesn’t let this hold her back, she runs and pounces and tackles her brother just like any other young cat! She likes to be brushed and held, keeps fastidiously groomed, allows nail trims easily, and if you carry her around the room she may tap at the mirror to say hello to her reflection.

Levi is a burly boy with gorgeous green eyes and dark gray fur. This goofy cat is 9 years old, and can often be found with his tongue slightly out as he hopes to be pet or get a treat. He is the shyer of the pair, and after a few days he will feel comfortable enough to headbutt your hand and rub against your legs to ask for affection and chattily tell you all about his day. Once settled, and confident in his space, he loves to play with wand toys and will even fetch! He likes to be brushed, especially around his head, and allows nail trimming with only a few grumbles. He isn’t overly fond of being picked up, and can get overstimulated when having his back pet, so you need to be aware of his signals. A few months ago he had some matted hair, and the fur on the back 2/3 of his body was trimmed short to detangle. He currently looks like he’s wearing a thick charcoal sweater. By the end of the Summer his coat will have grown back fully, and in the meantime he looks like an exotic and slightly awkward species of bearcat. He has a short stumpy tail, and has since he was first adopted as a kitten, so he may have some Manx mixed with Russian Blue in his genes.

Levi and Michonne were each adopted as kittens, and lived in a home together since then. They were so very loved, but when the family had a child develop serious allergies they decided it would be best for the cats to rehome them. Both cats have received regular vet care since kittenhood, and are healthy overall. Michonne squints at times, and one of her eyes is losing sight, but she does not appear to be in any pain. Their veterinarian has recommended keeping the wonky eye and monitoring it, so that is the current plan. Did we mention Levi is on the husky side? Everyone loves a chonky kitty, but it would be to his benefit to lose a few pounds. They are currently fed twice a day (instead of free feeding), and encouraged to play and run and jump and are rewarded with treats.

This pair would do well in a variety of households. Michonne likes children and some dogs, Levi tolerates both and will remove himself or jump to a high place if the activities are too much for him. They have lived in a foster home for a few weeks as a transition before adoption, and have primarily stayed in one room with occasional supervised outings in the family room. They are always eager to see us when we come to their room. Levi and Michonne have not met the resident cats, but do not seem concerned when they hear them, either. Michonne would conquer the world if given the chance, she doesn’t hesitate to explore or greet anyone. Levi will need a few days to adjust to a room before giving him free rein of the place. He may hide at first, but can be lured out with treats. They are both food motivated, especially Levi. Both cats have done well with scratching posts and using the litterbox, as expected since they have been living as indoor cats all of their adult lives. They have adjusted to a big change in circumstance remarkably well.

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.
