Meet LEG WARMER

Legs is a sweet, shy boy who would make a great addition to your family. He is just over a year old and spent a lot of that time in the shelter, so he’s still adjusting to housecat life. He is litterbox-trained, loves Churus, and squeaks instead of meows. His favorite toys are his catnip mouse, his wand toy, and your phone charger. ;)

Legs is quite shy and will take time to get adjusted to his new home. For the first week at his foster mom’s house he hid under the bed, but gradually got more comfortable and started venturing out. Now he roams into the living room and kitchen with his tail held high, and likes to play on the bed when his foster parents are getting ready to turn in. He is still quite anxious when it comes to loud noises, sudden movements, being picked up, and put in his cat carrier (the last two are particularly stressful for him). While he is not a lap cat, he loves head scratchies and pets, and likes to sit next to his family when they're hanging out.

Because of his shy demeanor, Legs is one of the rare cats who would actually fit best in a home with one or more (friendly) cats, as they boost his confidence around people. He gets along really well with his foster-sibling (cat) because he’s very respectful of her space in the house and has never once hissed or swatted at her. Through watching her interact with her human, he’s made great strides in trusting people and coming out of his shell. Given his peaceful nature, I believe this also could make him a good candidate for families with children.

Foster mom is working on desensitizing him to loud noises (namely, shaking the Shrimpy Shrimp box loudly and going “TREATS!!”) so he becomes less frightened by everyday household sounds, which is something his new family should continue to practice with him. The key to his heart is any and all treats - Temptations, Churus, Blue Wilderness, you name it. With lots of snacks, patience, and time, LW will blossom into the gentlest, most purr-fect boy for your family.
