Kira's Story

Kira is a gentle, affectionate indoor cat whose world was turned upside down when her elderly owner passed away. She was taken in temporarily by her owners niece, but the busy household with children, dogs, and other cats proved far too stressful for her.<br/><br/>Kira is now being fostered by MEOW while she decompresses from all the recent changes. In a calm, quiet environment her sweet nature quickly shines through, and she loves gentle attention and companionship.<br/><br/>At approximately 9 years old, Kira is spayed, healthy, and looking for a peaceful adult-only home where she can settle in and feel safe again. As an indoor cat, the communal outdoor environment at our sanctuary is not suitable for her, so we are hoping to find her forever home as soon as possible.

Meow Refuge's Adoption Policy
We aim to place cats in safe, stable indoor homes and take time to make sure each adoption is a good fit. Adopters complete a brief application and have a conversation with us so we can match cats to appropriate homes. Adoption fees help cover basic medical care, and we remain available for support after adoption. Kittens are not adopted out before 12 weeks of age, and we strongly encourage kittens to be adopted in pairs to prevent single kitten syndrome and support healthy social development. Because adoption opportunities in Roswell are limited, we also partner with better-resourced rescue organizations in larger cities to place adoptable cats when that offers the best chance of a successful adoption. If an adoption doesn’t work out, cats are always welcome back at MEOW.
