Kira is a 2-year-old sweet and sassy kitty looking for her forever home! Kira has truly come a long way. She was found and trapped as a stray pregnant cat and initially did not like to be handled. Through socialization, time, and patience she has now decided that she belongs on the lap of her foster mom and when the lap doesn't cut it she makes herself cozy up on her foster mom's shoulders! She is so cuddly and playful and especially loves just being in the same space as you (Kira loves what her foster mom likes to call "ambient attention") Kira isn't afraid to let you know when she's had enough petting, so it would be a good idea to have someone cat savvy who has some knowledge of cat behavior to know how to read her cues to avoid any scratches.

Kira loves perching to look out the window and lounging in her cat tree during the day. She LOVES playing with wand toys, she will jump, pounce, and flip all over the room for them. Through her time as a stray cat she has had her share of mousing and hunting, so with her toys, she often will rip them to shreds so she needs some heavy-duty ones! She still makes her indoor life interesting! Kira has a moderate energy level. If you play with her, she most certainly will oblige and if you don't she'll let you know by getting a bit feisty, showing you she's ready to get some of that energy out!

Kira was a great mother to her kittens and may get along well with another kitty based on how much she loved caring for them, but this is unknown at this point. She likely would do best without dogs and young children as she seems to enjoy a calm environment. She has two dogs and a toddler in the foster home that she hears but does not have contact with, and even with their noises she is relatively unphased.

Kira is currently living in a home with two adults, one child, two cats, and two dogs but she resides in her own private suite so she can retain that calm environment. Kira's ideal home would be a calmer environment with cat-savvy individuals. Kira likes predictability in how people move around in her space so ideally a consistent environment that doesn't have too much hustle and bustle. She will likely take a little time to warm up in a new environment so a good decompression plan will be important for her transition.

An owner who has experience with cats and understands cat behavior would be ideal. She is an extremely loving cat but there are moments where she may be scared by how quickly you're moving and will bat at you to tell you to stop. Someone with cat knowledge would be able to easily pick up on those cues so they can work with her!

Kira is loving and needs affection. If you consider this to be compatible with your home then consider her for adoption!

Please note there may be additional follow-up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.
