Kiki's Story
Kiki was surrendered to the San Diego Humane Society by her owner who said Kiki was stressed by the toddler and dog in the home. We welcomed her as a Frosted Feline on March 18th. Kiki is 13 years old, weighs 11.5 lbs. and is very sweet.

Since early April, Kiki has been living in a Foster home, which has helped us learn a lot about her, including the type of home where she will thrive in her golden years. Here's the scoop from her foster mom:

Kiki knows her name, loves a sprinkle of fresh catnip on her scratcher bed, and thrives on a predictable daily routine. She's searching for someone who appreciates a cat with personality, enjoys a few daily conversations, and understands that the best relationships are built on trust and respect.

For a senior cat, Kiki still has plenty of energy. She enjoys batting at toys for a few minutes at a time and absolutely adores her cardboard scratcher pads. Her favorite setup is a large scratcher box that doubles as the perfect daytime bed. She also discovered a battery-powered rolling ball toy and had an absolute blast chasing it around the house before deciding she'd had enough excitement for one day!

Because of her hyperthyroidism, Kiki has a healthy appetite and isn't shy about reminding you when it's time for a meal. She'll happily announce breakfast at 7:00 a.m. sharp and will let you know when dinner should be served, too! Once she's had her meal and medication, she's content to settle into one of her favorite spots for a cozy nap. Her condition also means she uses the litter box more frequently than most cats. Kiki does an excellent job keeping her box tidy.

One of the sweetest parts of Kiki's day begins when her person comes home from work. After enthusiastically requesting dinner, she transforms into an affectionate lap cat who loves curling up close-sometimes right on your chest while you're trying to read in bed! Once she's enjoyed her cuddle time, she'll head to her basket for a long, peaceful night's sleep.

Kiki is looking for a quiet home where she can be the only pet. She's an independent girl who enjoys companionship on her own terms and doesn't care for other animals or constant attention. Like many cats, she can become overstimulated during petting sessions and will give a gentle warning nibble when she's had enough. She communicates her boundaries clearly and responds well to people who respect them.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who will make you smile every morning, keep your lap warm in the evenings, and reward your care with quiet affection, Kiki may be the perfect match for you.

To meet Kiki, please email:
placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
