Kaa **Fee Sponsored by Pat!**'s Story
Kaa is currently our longest-resident cat at the shelter. He has been adopted from us and then returned not once, but twice - it's not that he's a bad guy, it's just that has had some bad luck. His first adopters were impatient to let him come out of his shell on his own time, and gave him less than 24 hours before the decided he wasn't warming up to them well enough. The next time he was adopted, his owner unfortunately became homeless a couple months later.

Ideally, whoever adopts Kaa next (and hopefully last!) should be patient with earning his trust and affection. He is a friendly cat, but he will probably need a couple weeks to warm up to his new environment, especially now that he is so used to and fond of his routine here at the shelter. Once he finds the perfect home, he will make the perfect cat companion. Once he does warm up to you, be prepared for semi-aggressive affection from him - he may occasionally use his claws to grip (lovingly) onto your legs.

Kaa may share his name with the slithery python from The Jungle Book, but this Kaa is all about fun and charm! With his striking green eyes and sleek fur, Kaa will capture your attention with his playful antics and curious nature. He's always up for an adventure, whether it's chasing toys, exploring new corners of the home, or enjoying time with other kitties! Kaa adores getting treats as well and is a bit food motivated!

If you're interested in adopting him, please submit an application at https://biglakehumane.org/adoption-process-application/ and feel free to visit him during our open hours!

****Please note that some other pet adoption sites may not update their listings promptly after an animal is adopted, or they might not reflect new intakes, all animals in our care, or updates to each animal's bio.
