Judy's Story

SWEET WITH A LITTLE HEART HICCUP: Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 9.5 lbs.

Hi, my name is Judy! When my siblings and I needed homes, Mostly Mutts came to the rescue. They've all since found their forever families – and I've been busy growing, thriving, and charming everyone in my wonderful foster home while I wait for mine! I play and act just like any other kitty, even though I was born with a heart condition called ventricular septal defect (VSD). See medical below for information. You'd honestly never know it unless someone told you!

• OTHER CATS/DOGS/KIDS: There are two adult cats in my foster home and I absolutely adore them. We play together every day! / I recently met a dog for the first time and handled it like a pro. I took a little time to think it over, then went nose-to-nose with him and decided he was pretty alright! / I’ve also won over a couple of kids (ages 6 & 7), who earned an enthusiastic face rub of approval from me. So, I have shown that I can warm up to other kitties, dogs and children, as long as introductions are slow and they let me come around on my own terms.

• PERSONALITY INFORMATION: I'm a happy, curious little girl with a sleek, soft coat, a big purr, and a serious love for fun. Playtime is my love language so break out the feather wands and string toys and I am in! I also play independently, so don’t worry if you’re busy. I love a lively, fun household — I just prefer my excitement with a side of calm rather than pure chaos! When I'm not busy having fun, you'll find me curled up on a soft blanket, snoozing in a sunny window, or draped across your lap in the cutest half-on, half-off cuddle nap. I've met lots of new people in my foster home and like many kitties, I may take a moment to observe first, but then I'll join in to see what everyone is up to. Call "kitty" with a soft clap and I'll usually come running (though not always, because I am a cat and we have minds of our own lol).

• SKILLS/LITTER TRAINED STATUS: I am highly skilled at being adorable and endlessly entertaining (I make my foster mom laugh every day)! I am eager to please and am a great sport about nail trims, which my foster appreciates. I've taken to my litter box like a champ in both my foster homes with no issues.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: My idea of a great time is zooming through the house, wrestling with my foster brothers, and chasing anything from feather wands to wadded-up paper - even regular-size tennis balls! One of my favorite quirky treats is crushed ice from the freezer. I'll bat it around and lick it until it melts. I also enjoy climbing my cat tree and reigning as queen of the house! But don't let all that energy fool you, I am equally happy to slow things down with a cozy nap. Give me a little time to get to know you, play with me, and we'll be the best of friends. / I would not like it if I didn’t get the love, good medical care and attention that all kitties deserve!

• MEDICAL: I am current on my annual vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. I was born with a heart condition called ventricular septal defect (VSD), a small hole between the lower chambers of my heart. I've had two echocardiograms and am doing beautifully. My only sign of the condition is a slightly elevated resting breath rate, and it has had zero impact on my daily life. Many cats with my condition go on to live completely normal lives and so far, all signs point in that direction for me! I don't need any special treatment right now, just a loving home that will keep an eye on me and check in with their vet if anything changes.

I know my perfect forever family is out there and trust me, everyone needs a Judy in their life. Let’s meet and see if that could be you! My adoption fee is $175.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
