Joss's Story
In 2013, Joss was born in an Oceanside backyard to a feral cat. A kind couple had the kittens vaccinated, spayed and neutered, found them all homes, with the exception of Joss, who they adopted and loved for the next 13 years. When they reached out for our help in finding a loving new home, they explained:

"It breaks our heart to re-home Joss, but our son has developed a severe cat (and dog) allergy along with asthma that requires an inhaler. We have re-homed our dog to a friend, but unable to find a home for our cat with someone we can trust. Joss is a timid, but loving cat. She will need time to warm up, but she is sweet, loves to be pet, and always gentle. Joss loves to hide in small spaces and sleep on our bed with us at night with us."

After spending 13 years in the same home, Joss was understandably scared and overwhelmed when she arrived at our Frosted Feline cattery. Joss's favorite place is a cozy bed tucked inside one of our open cabinets, where she can quietly watch the world go by. While she's still gaining confidence, she enjoys gentle pets-and as you'll see in her video, she's beginning to relax and let her sweet personality shine through.

Thankfully, Joss is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, which is giving her an opportunity to continue to decompress in a calm foster home. We received a great update from her foster mom:

"Sweet Joss has started to how her personality. A week into our fling, she lets me pick her up, and today, I cut her nails. She purred the whole time.

Joss has been eating, drinking, and using her litter box since I brought her home, but it was around the sixth day, when she first came out to say hi when I went into her room. (See video!) She also started exploring and using the scratching post then, too.

Joss is just lovely."

Stay tuned for more updates from this beautiful calico's foster home!

To meet Joss, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
