JACK's Story

Meet Jack, the handsome senior gentleman cat! Jack came to the Shelter from a home that was unable to continue caring for him. He was described as the smartest cat – able to open doors, carry cans around and show you where his food is stored. His previous guardian reported that he is also very sweet and friendly. Jack has a history being around children, lizards and rabbits. He does have history with dogs but was not a fan. Jack does not have history living with other cats. Jack would thrive with an adopter who has the time and resources to commit to an older feline. This may include day to day care such as eating and litterbox habits. Jack may need more regular vet visits as he ages to ensure his health stays in tip top shape. Looking to provide a home for a kitty’s golden years? Consider Jack! Jack's adoption fee is sponsored thanks to the Silver Whisker’s Society, a fund aiming to get often overlooked seniors out of the Shelter! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them
