Izzy's Story

Hi, my name is Izzy. I'm the tiniest and most thoughtful kitten of my litter. I'm a little observer quietly taking everything in before deciding when to join the fun. My foster mom calls me the "old soul" of the group because I move through life at a softer, slower pace than my siblings. I am just 2 months old.
I'm a classic tuxedo kitten with adorable black smudges on my nose and chin, like I accidentally dipped my face into an ink pot and smudged it around. I was also born with only half a tail, which somehow makes me even cuter. My coat is short, sleek, and completely low-maintenance.
I'm very timid with new people and unfamiliar situations, especially when strangers try to pick me up. But once I know and trust you, I become incredibly affectionate and loving. It just takes me a little longer to get there; expect to take some time but worth your while in the end. I like to sit up high and quietly observe the room before joining in, especially if my siblings are wrestling or playing. I'm also the least rambunctious of the bunch and much more interested in relaxing on the couch beside you than causing chaos.
I absolutely adore other cats and would thrive in a home with a feline companion. My happiest moments are curled up with my siblings or sneaking onto the couch beside my foster mom for calm cuddle time. I'll sit on your lap and happily accept pets while I watch everyone else running around. I do like to play with toys but I'm not as chase-focused as some kittens.
When I feel fully safe and settled, I am very quick to purr and often walk all over your lap happily purring and turning circles while I get pets. I'm very quiet, gentle, and sensitive. Once I trust you deeply, I can be held upside down for short periods, though I usually prefer to wiggle free so I can keep watch over the world. I'm very affectionate once I trust you. I've been voted most likely to follow you to the bathroom.
I'm perfectly litter box trained and easy to care for. I've met one dog and found it pretty scary, but because I'm still young, I could likely adapt to a calm, older dog with a slow introduction.
The best way to my heart is patience, calm couch time, and gentle skritches. Give me time and space to relax, and I'll slowly become your quiet little shadow -- the kind of companion who chooses you very carefully, and then loves you deeply forever. My siblings are Inky and Iredale, and I'd especially love a home with one of them, or another friendly cat to help me feel safe and confident. I'd really benefit from another kitty role model.

This cats/kittens are at the Petco listed below. Petco adoption counselors handle the adoption process. An application can be made at the South Tigard Petco.
Please come by the South Tigard Petco to meet this cat.
15660 SW Pacific Hwy
Tigard OR 97224
503 443 1070

Columbia Gorge Cat Rescue's Adoption Policy
ADOPTION PROCESS With few exceptions, all of our cats and kittens are located in the Portland area Petco identified in their description. Petco employs trained adoption counselors to guide you through the process and answer your questions. You can meet your prospective furry companion in person and fill out the adoption application they provide. If you're interested in a kitty, we recommend you go to the Petco where that kitty is listed without delay. Petco only does in-person adoptions. Thank you so much for wanting to adopt a rescue kitty. 100% of the adoption fees go directly to CGCR to help us continue to rescue, spay and neuter stray and homeless cats and kittens. Petco does not profit from the adoption fees in any way. Thank you Petco for making this possible.
