Izy's Story
Meet Izy 💙 — a strikingly handsome blue-eyed gentleman who looks like he stepped straight out of a luxury cat food commercial… despite having a much rougher start than a cat this fancy deserved.

We believe Izy may be a true chocolate point Scottish Fold who somehow ended up surviving life as a stray. When he arrived at the shelter, he was covered in fight wounds and looking pretty battle-worn. But here’s the thing: Izy doesn’t seem like much of a fighter at all. Underneath the scratches and scuffs is an incredibly sweet, calm boy who mostly just wants a soft place to rest and humans to love him.

At heart, Izy is a total companion cat. He loves pets and affection and enjoys staying close to his people, whether that means curling up beside you for attention or quietly hanging out in a comfy cat bed while you work. He’s wonderfully chill and easy to be around, with just enough personality to keep things entertaining. He’s also a bit of a chatty catty, especially when he’s feeling lonely or would like some extra love directed his way.

Because of his history with cat fights, we think Izy would do best as an only cat. We simply don’t know whether he was the instigator or the unwilling participant, and we want to set him up for the calmest, safest future possible. He would also prefer a dog-free home, though he should do just fine with older, respectful kids.

Izy recently had bloodwork and a full dental and is overall a healthy guy. He’s currently healing from his wounds and some previous hair loss, but give him a little time and good care and he’ll soon be back to full glamour mode, looking every bit the regal cat he was clearly meant to be.

Izy is also FIV+, which might sound intimidating at first, but it truly is not considered special needs. With a loving indoor home and routine veterinary care, FIV+ cats typically live long, healthy lives with life expectancies similar to other cats. If you’d like to learn more about what FIV means (and what it definitely doesn’t), you can read more here:
https://www.denverkittens.org/post/fiv-what-is-it

Izy’s adoption fee ($200) includes:
• Neuter
• Dewormer
• FeLV testing
• Microchip
• Core vaccines
• A free 30-day subscription to Petcademy (24/7 cat behavior support!)
• A free exam at a ChewyVet clinic + a $50 Chewy gift card
• A "go home" bag of goodies

Izy has already survived the hard part. Now he’s ready for the soft life: warm beds, gentle hands, good conversation, and a forever person who sees the sweetheart beneath those stunning blue eyes. 🐾

Apply at denverkittens.org/adopt
