Hershey's Story

Hershey is the kind of cat who chooses her person and loves deeply—she’s just waiting for her quiet forever home. She is a beautiful adult tabby who is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative.

She loves gentle head rubs, soft blankets, cozy boxes, and watching birds from a sunny window. Once she feels safe, she becomes very affectionate, stays close to her person, and loves to sleep with you throughout the night. Her favorite treat is Churu.

Hershey has a very loyal, almost dog-like personality. She bonds deeply with her person and thrives on that connection. When it’s time for bed, she knows the routine—she’ll run to the bed, meow as if she’s telling you to come already, and once you’re settled, she’ll curl up in your arms or even tuck herself under the blanket against you.

She also has a funny little quirk—she loves drinking from the sink faucet. No matter how many bowls or fountains she has, she’ll happily follow you to the bathroom and wait for you to turn the water on for her.

Hershey is a sensitive girl who does best in a calm, low-stimulation home with an experienced adopter who understands overstimulated or sensitive cats. She is currently being fostered with two elderly, mellow poodles and does very well with them—she even rubs up against them and enjoys their quiet presence. She is also good with male cats.

She does not do well with children and needs a quiet, adult-only home (a single person or calm couple). Busy households and high-energy environments can overwhelm her, so a serene home is key to her happiness and confidence.

Hershey is a truly special cat—she just needs someone who understands her personality and will give her the love and patience she deserves.

Hershey is about 7 years old and healthy. She is spayed, microchipped, tested FIV-/FeLV- and up to date on all vaccinations.

If you're interested in meeting this sweetie, fill out our application here: https://brooklynanimalaction.org/adoption-forms/.
