GRUNGY Domestic Short Hair Muskegon, MI

GRUNGY was a Stray who was rescued and brought to the shelter. The night he came in was a nasty, wet night and GRUNGY was dirty and rough looking, you know, a bit "grungy" looking. Now he is a handsome, unusually marked, white cat with a few grey spots!!
While living on the streets GRUNGY must have learned it was safer to go unnoticed. For quite a while after he arrived at the shelter, he usually stayed in a hidey box.He has now become more confident and knows he is safe. Instead of hiding, he is often laying in a bed in front of the window. He is still a little timid and may back off a bit when you reach for him but if you approach him slowly, he likes the attention and will allow head pets. He also is a big treat fan ! Eventually, you can scratch his chin and gently rub his neck. While you do this, he starts this cute, deep grumbly sound in his throat. Once he's relaxed you can give him full head to tail pets!! Your reward is the biggest, deepest purr ever. He is not a fan of being picked up and held. As a stray, with little or no contact with people, he may not understand the loving intent and is afraid of being hurt. He is so quiet, and watchful, he probably would do best in a quiet home. He does not seem interested in play, though if he were in a home, without a lot of other roommates, he may gain confidence and be a little more active.
GRUNGY is an awesome cat who needs someone he can trust and who will give him a new chance for a wonderful life and a new better name to reflect the new, improved version of himself!!! His purr alone is worth the effort.
