Meet Gloria

Name: Gloria

Age: About 8 years old

Breed: Domestic short hair

Reason for being at shelter: Return - not a good fit

Description: Goofy Gloria is back. As much as the family who adopted her loved her, Gloria didn't fit in well. She is back to her normal busy-body self at the shelter, taking control of the cat house and demanding of attention (and treats). She is limited on her treats because of her diabetes so we make her run the hall the get her treat. She bolts away, charging toward the scrumptious goody that awaits her. She has successfully lost several pounds while at the shelter and by monitoring her diet and she's just about at normal weight. Even her insulin amount has reduced. That shows great progress for Gloria and a great benefit to her health. She requires a 2x daily dose of insulin (which she takes easily and without a fuss) and restricted food intake (which she complains about).

Now with it comes to Gloria's personality, we can't say enough good things about her. She is loving, affectionate, sociable, friendly, interactive, and playful. She loves her high perch on a cat tree and shows disdain for any kitty who tries to take her place. Gloria is generally good around other cats, some better than others. She'll let you know if she likes them or not. Gloria is a talker so if you appreciate silence, Gloria is the type of kitty to disrupt that until she gets what she wants. That's either food, treats, or attention. The most that Gloria wants is one-on-one love and attention from people. She's quite a hoot and is an irresistible character.

Medical need: Diabetic and requires twice daily shots.
