Gilbert is a silly, happy, darling boy who will make your life complete. But he wasn't always. He was brought to a shelter as a young adult with his beloved brother to whom he was bonded. They were separated when his more outgoing brother was adopted. Not surprisingly, Gilbert was terrified, sad and confused when he came to his foster home. Over time he adjusted to life as the only boy around, making friends with the other cats and relaxing enough to enjoy the attentions of his persistent, patient foster mom. Today he can be found sleeping on the human's bed and sitting near her while she works. Gilbert can be very talkative and has become fascinated by water (he's joined his foster mom in the shower just to see what was happening!). He loves to be pet, and sharing belly rubs is how he shows love. Still, Gilbert longs for a feline buddy who will be his best friend and cuddle pal. He must have MANY toys of all shapes and sizes, as different days require different toys! He relishes a chance to run, jump and chase a feline companion. And boy does he have the moves! His ability to jump straight up nearly 2 feet is a sight to behold, his tail is ridiculously expressive, and he is quite the acrobat on the cat tower-tree (or the kitchen cabinets!). He is not quite as dumb as he leads the other cats to believe, which might be because he hides his brains behind that beautiful blonde face and dark considering eyes. Above all, Gilbert is a sweet, gentle, endearing boy who just wants to be loved.
