Genevieve

Genevieve is a beautiful and gentle 1-year old Scottish Straight who was recently rescued from a tragic breeder/hoarder situation. She was one of 84 Scottish Fold and Scottish Straight cats living in an apartment in NYC.

Like many cats rescued from hoarding situations, Genevieve starts off as a slightly shy cat who needs some time to adjust to new places and people before she truly opens up. This is because, as a cat from a hoarder situation, she didn't receive enough proper care and attention from humans 1-on-1.

But once she settles in, Genevieve is a spunky, confident and loving little companion. She has a lot of energy and loves to play. Her current favorite toy is the ribbon wand, which she will pounce, leap and bat at for as long as you wave it around for her. In the first few days in a new setting, she is wary of touch, but once she acclimates she loves to be pet and have the back of her ears gentle scratched.

Genevieve also gets along well with other friendly cats. She is polite and inquisitive, and enjoys watching other cats feel at ease in the home. In fact, we think the resident cat in her foster home has given Genevieve a lot of confidence - showing her the ropes on how to be a happy, cherished pet.

Genevieve is the perfect cat for anyone who has fallen in love with the British Shorthair and Scottish Fold breed, but is morally against the forced breeding of cats. Her perfect forever family is one who is happy to move at her pace and show her love and patience as she finds her confidence in a new home.

Genny is a purebred Scottish Straight and is 1 year old, spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and negative for FIV/FeLV.

If you are interested in adopting Genevieve, please fill out our application at: https://forms.gle/mgP4wfSK7Us2RW6S9
