Gemma's Story
Hi. My name is Gemma, and I'm still figuring some things out. But I think I'm going to be something really special.

I was born around August 2024 and spent my early life outdoors, figuring out survival on my own terms. In August 2025, I was picked up as a stray and brought somewhere safe — and then, almost immediately, I had babies to take care of. I gave that job everything I had. My kittens have all found wonderful homes now, and for the first time in my life, it's just me. No more surviving. No more mothering. Just… me, getting to figure out who I am.

And I am, if I do say so myself, absolutely stunning. Dilute calico with truly unique markings — the kind of face you could study for a long time and keep finding something new. But underneath all that beauty is a heart that is still learning to feel safe.

People make me nervous. I'll be honest about that. I keep my distance, I watch carefully, and I take my time. But when I feel secure — really secure — something shifts. My toys come out. I throw them in the air, stalk them, pounce them with full commitment and zero embarrassment. I lounge in my cat tree like I own it. I sit in the window and watch the world go by for peaceful, contented hours. There is a whole playful, funny, curious cat in here, and she comes out more every day.

My door is open now, literally. I venture out into the wider world — so curious, so interested — and then I dart back into my tunnel, because sometimes that's just enough for one day. And that's okay. I'm working on it. Every small step counts, and I'm taking them.

I'm looking for a calm, adult-only home with someone who understands that patience isn't waiting — it's participating. Someone who will celebrate the day I venture a little farther, stay out a little longer, and maybe, eventually, let them see the full, funny, wonderful cat I already am behind closed doors.

I have so much potential. I can feel it myself.

I just need someone who can feel it too.

— Gemma

--
Our adoption fee includes spay/neuter and microchipping for all animals.
