Frost, a one-year-old black, brown and white tabby, is the definition of a cat with a past. He was living the good life, the beloved king of two little girl's hearts, who showered him with affection. Then tragedy struck— they were evicted, and he was returned to the rescue. He's also began to seem depressed and a bit unsociable in our communal cat room with humans. He does love other cats. But we have seen a glimmer of his old self. When children come to visit, he's sometimes curious and friendly. He must remember the girls that once loved him. <br/><br/>Frost is a one-of-a-kind cat looking for a one-of-a-kind person. He may not greet you at the door with a meow or a purr, at first-but he's at Ms Debbies house getting daily 1-1 time and we are trying to change that. He arrived there at the beginning of May 2026 for his new adventure with another cat from SOS named Bonnie. Both needed extra love and Ms Debbie said she has some to give. <br/><br/>He's just looking for a calm, quiet home where he can rediscover the joy of human companionship preferably with a cat companion (or two)or Bonnie even. The two of them love one another. Enclosed is a video of him with his friends here. Help save cats while buying or selling a home. <br/><br/> Since 2020, SOS has rescued and adopted more than 1,500 stray cats in the Pittsburgh area. Included in our $100 (going rate/full vetting is expensive) adoption fee is full vetting. It will cost you more money to have everything we have already completed for them done. Adopting from us supports S.O.S and our mission to save cats from neglect, abandonment, hoarding or friendly strays stuck living outside. <br/><br/>All of our cats are spayed/neutered, dewormed, have received Capstar for any flea issues and NEXGUARD COMBO for any parasites, received two FVRCP vaccines as well as their rabies vaccine, are treated for ear mites (if needed), are combo tested for FeLV and FIV(beware large shelters no longer test) and are microchipped which will transfer to you. Once the adult cats are fully vetted and vaccinated, they freely roam across two floors and (Pittsburgh weather permitting...) also spend time in an outside Catio to soak up the sunshine.<br/> <br/><br/> <br/> SOS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our adoption fee, along with donations, allow us to tend to our rescued cats in the manner in which they deserve: fully vetted and fully cared for. We also allocate funds to continue TNR (trap, neuter, and release) efforts for all of the strays who are too unsocialized and human-adverse for an indoor home. By spaying/neutering, these<br/>cats live a healthier life and no longer contribute to increasing the stray cat population.<br/><br/> When you adopt a cat from SOS, you're doing more than giving a cat a good home. You're also helping those stray cats who cannot be homed.
