Meet Frenchie

Frenchie is a 2½-year-old dilute tortie who is quirky, affectionate, and lovable and is looking for her forever home!

It may take a bit for this pretty girl to warm up to you, but once she does, she is very affectionate and loving.

Frenchie loves condensed cat nip toys. She is a very playful kitty that is entertained by all kinds of toys. She loves climbing on the cat tower, as well as using scratch pads. She is also a very enthusiastic biscuit-maker—she sometimes overdoes it and makes biscuits a little too hard, but with lots of love and affection, she should feel more relaxed.

Frenchie needs to be an only pet. She dislikes dogs and doesn’t like cats much, either. She has never been around children, but we believe Frenchie would be happiest in a no-kids household. Because she was afraid of the resident male cat and tried to hide, she now lives in her own bedroom, where she consistently uses the litter box. We will visit her at least twice a day to feed and hang out with her. We play with her using a fish rod type toy and she gets LOTS of pets. We recently also discovered that she really loves being brushed!

However, she is an active girl and needs more exercise than a single room can provide, so her ideal home would give her plenty of space to run, climb, and jump. She’s also a fearless explorer, so her forever home would have to not have any access to ceilings, hideaway areas, etc., as she will try and climb to forbidden spots.

Frenchie had a bit of a rough start, as we rescued her as a stray; shortly after taking her in, we discovered that she was pregnant (most likely not for the first time). She had 3 babies in our home and was a phenomenal momma!

Once her babies were grown up and two of them adopted out, over time she became more and more reclusive. She will find an accessible high spot where she can hide and will only come out for food or attention, and only if no other cats are around. We believe that with the right loving, compassionate person, she will absolutely thrive!

When she was found, one of her upper canine teeth was missing, and the vet removed about 4 more teeth that were in different stages of resorption. This does not hinder her eating habits at all. She occasionally has a weepy eye that resolves itself and does not seem to bother her.

Frenchie currently lives with two adult women and four cats, one of which is her adult baby.

This sweetheart absolutely needs to go to a home where the owner has lots of previous cat experience, knows cats well, and has plenty of patience and lots of love and attention to give. Her future people must be adult female(s) who are home a lot.

Frenchie has faced so many challenges in her young life. She is so ready to give plenty of love and affection to the right people who can help her feel safe and treasured in their care. If this sounds like you, please consider adding the beautiful Frenchie to your home and your heart.

There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate. Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated.

Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption. Interested in adopting or learning more about this cat?
