Frances was a Waverly stray we took in back in November 2023. Her foster mom called her by her nickname of Frannie. We planned to fully vet her and place onto a nice farm along with 5 other cats we took in from the same colony at the same time. But Frannie had severe upper respiratory issues. If they tried to spay her, she would not have been able to breathe and survive it. She stayed at the vet for 2 months trying to get better. She was contagious to other cats so we finally placed her in a dog only foster home and she thrived there. Thank you to that foster home for helping Frannie get better! Once she got better, she went back to the vet for her spay and now is living in a cat foster home. She is up to date on shots, spayed, and tested FeLV / FIV negative.

Frannie is about 8-months-old as of February 4th, 2024. Life on the streets was hard on her and she would not have survived the winter. Only with medication and an inside home did she get better. We decided to not put her on a farm since she is still a kitten and now used to living in a home. She is also not as feral as the 4 adult cats were they she was living with. Frannie had human contact since birth with an elderly man that was feeding the colony. She is still a bit shy but coming out of her shell even more each day. Frannie is a good eater. She makes some happy singing noises when she eats. She will let you pet her and enjoys it. She does well with the other cats in her foster home. She also did well with the dogs when she was in the dog foster home.

Frannie would love someone willing to set her up in a room alone to start off. And then giving her time and love to settle in. This could take days or weeks or even more. A true cat lover of the shy ones would be perfect!

Frannie has a sister named Alice listed on here too if anyone would like to adopt 2 kittens. They are friendly to each other but not particularly bonded so would be absolutely ok in 2 good homes instead of getting adopted together.

Frannie's adoption fee is $95.00.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to waverlypetrescue@mchsi.com

All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $250 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
