Fahrenheit 55890's Story
This sweet girl was found in the middle of a busy road with eye injuries from some kind of blunt force trauma. A double enucleation in early February then ensued and a biopsy confirmed the cause of her injuries. She was estimated to be about 4 or 5 months old and was also very underweight for her age.

Despite this rough beginning for such a young girl, she has made a remarkable recovery and has adjusted beautifully to her new world! She confidently navigates her foster room, chases a wand toy, finds her food and litter box every time, and goes up and down stairs like a champ!

One of the cutest things about her is her chirpy little meow when she wants your attention. She has the best little spirit, is very playful (watch out - she'll roll over and try to "attack" your hand when excited!), and loves lying next to you and getting pets. Her inky black velvet coat is extremely soft, and she has the most adorable white hairs throughout!

She really likes other kitties - her spunky foster sister helped her "see" the room, so a home with another confident cat would be wonderful.

Living with a blind kitten is no different than living a sighted kitten, and there are a few things you can do to help - Fahrenheit will need time to adapt to a new home, introduced gradually (room by room). Keeping her food, litter box, and favorite spots in consistent places, or making only small changes at a time is best. Rugs can help with orientation, and she can learn stairs. It's best not to carry her around; if you do pick her up, putting her back in the same spot helps her orient herself once again. She also orients by voice, so talking to her before petting or picking her up is also very helpful.

What do you think? Want to meet her? Email adoptions@savedbyzade.com!
