SHE WAS JUST A BABY... AND ALREADY VERY PREGNANT. <br/><br/>Meet ELOWYN — a beautiful 7-month-old Lynx Point Siamese (also called a tabby point Siamese) girl whose story is a powerful reminder of just how quickly an unspayed cat's life can become an endless cycle of pregnancy, survival, and hardship.<br/><br/>At only 6 months old, Elowyn was already carrying a litter of kittens.<br/><br/>She came from a property where dozens of cats were being fed but not spayed or neutered. As the population grew, so did the suffering. Disease spread from cat to cat. Some cats became so severely infected that their eyes were destroyed. Tiny kittens struggled simply to survive.<br/><br/>Animal Control stepped in to remove many of the sick kittens so they could receive desperately needed medical care. At the same time, Lucky Cat volunteers worked tirelessly to trap the adult cats and get them the veterinary care they had been missing for so long.<br/><br/>When Elowyn was trapped, she was terrified and heartbreakingly thin. She was barely more than a kitten herself, pregnant and suddenly taken away from everything she knew. But here's the beautiful thing about cats:<br/><br/>They don't let their past define their future. <br/><br/>Today, Elowyn is safe in a foster home — and this frightened young kitty has blossomed into a gentle, affectionate little sweetheart.<br/><br/>She has discovered that people can mean:<br/><br/> Soft beds<br/> Full bowls<br/> Gentle hands<br/> Kind voices<br/> And, most importantly... safety.<br/><br/>Elowyn loves affection. She loves being safe. And apparently, she REALLY loves to eat! <br/><br/>She's still a girl who needs a little patience. She isn't necessarily going to march into a new home on Day One as though she owns the place. She's more likely to quietly observe; to take her time, to gather her courage...<br/><br/>And then, one day, you'll realize that this once-terrified little cat has curled up beside you, purring as though she's loved you forever.<br/><br/>Those are the cats who steal your heart the deepest.<br/><br/>Her name, Elowyn, is of Cornish origin and means "elm tree."
