Ellewood Fritz Domestic Short Hair Sterling, VA

Introducing Ellie! Ellewood Fritz was turned into a WV shelter after being found as a stray and displaying some neurological symptoms. It became evident very quickly that Ellie has CH (Cerebellar Hypoplasia). It is likely that she and/or her mom were ill with Panleukopenia at some point and managed to survive outside. The virus can affect cerebellum development and lead to these goofy little tremors you will see Ellie display.

She has what is considered a moderate case of CH, as she is quite wobbly, but she can eat and use the litterbox and other feline things just fine. Her wobbly antics will have your entire family up in fits of laughter. Coming home to a kitty is certainly joyful, but a goober drunken kitty is even MORE joyful! I promise you!

Ellie is absolutely best buddies with her paraplegic friend Jelly Donut, but finding them a home together would be nearly impossible :( so we are hoping to find Ellie a home with another very playful feline friend. She loves to snuggle with Jelly as well, and they make the most perfect snuggle piles.

Beyond some considerations when going under anesthesia, Ellewood will not require any major life changes compared to a "normal cat". She does do best with a lower sided litterbox. I always suggest people take extra care to protect the area near stair railings and balconies.
