Meet Eddie

Eddie was rescued on the Eastern Shore during a trap-neuter-return (TNR) project with a large colony. Right away, we knew he was special and didn’t want to be returned back outside.

Eddie has turned into a very handsome, fluffy, chunky, young cat who is lovable and sweet. He loves playing with springs, balls, and wands, and he gets along great with everybody.

Eddie says: When I first came to FAN, I was very shy and scared. But I've learned that my foster mom isn't going to hurt me. I'm becoming more confident with strangers and like being petted and held once I get to know you. I'm very sweet and non-aggressive, but I do like to wrestle and roughhouse with my friends.

CHARACTERISTICS: Calm / Chill / Mellow, Gentle, Goofy / Crazy / Hilarious / Silly, Good-natured, Friendly, Affectionate, Easy-going, Sweet / Personable, Relaxed, Lazy, Cuddly / Snuggly, Lovable, Loving

If I was on a dating app, my pickup line would be: I’m so handsome :))) If you're looking for a sweet, fun-loving guy, look no further. I am that guy.

In a human companion, I’m looking for: Someone who will let me acclimate to my new home in my own time frame, and who wants to play with me and pet me.

In an animal companion (house-mate), I'm looking for: Wrestling with my foster siblings.

Lots of people say I love to: Lay and laze around. I’m very handsome, and I know it. I love to wrestle with my cat friends, and I prefer not to be around people who are very loud or hyper - I prefer a quieter environment.

Despite my less-than-ideal start in life, I have flourished in FAN's care and am now: Feeling like moving on to a nice home of my own. I am developing into a handsome and sweet young man who loves pets and playing. I am happy and good natured.

++++++++++++++++++++

It’s important to set reasonable expectations when bringing any new cat home. We offer the Rule of Threes.
3 DAYS: To decompress
3 WEEKS: To get familiar with your house and its routines
3 MONTHS: To settle in and feel like they’re home

Adding a new animal to your household can be a whirlwind of an experience for many owners. There is a lot of change happening for your new cat, so it’s not uncommon for the cat’s behavior to change accordingly. They may be acting in ways you’ve never seen before, and this can be discouraging.

These “rules” are estimated marker points where you may see behavioral changes from your new cat.
SEE https://www.feralaffairs.org/faq/ to learn how long it may take to acclimate your cat to their new home.
