Doctor Fontaine: Not at the Shelter (Donna)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.When Doctor Fontaine was found by a resident of the Timber Lake community, we all thought that he was a loving, gentle, yet snotty-nosed senior female, most likely spayed, but so sick we didn't want to stress him out with a deep hands-on exam. He talked to us constantly those first few days, since he had to be in isolation due to his snottiness, and wasn't feeling all that great about handling. Once we realized he didn't mind handling, and his stray hold time was up without anyone coming to claim him, we got a vet appointment for bloodwork and to determine if "he" was spayed. Imagine our shock (yes, it happens that even we are surprised sometimes by the big reveal!) and discovered Doc is a neutered male! His bloodwork looked fairly routine, other than anemia, and we are giving him time for treatment with supplements before moving on to the next step, which most likely will be a dentistry. He loves his food but due to the meds he is taking for upper respiratory infection, has decreased appetite, and upset stomach. We hope to find out soon, if dental surgery is in the cards for him!
