Dizzle's Story

Hi, I'm Dizzle. Yes, this is my face.<br/><br/>Before we get started, let's address the obvious: I suffer from a serious case of Resting Hiss Face. I know. I look like I'm about to file a complaint with management. <br/><br/>Sometimes I even greet people with a tiny hiss. It's not because I'm angryit's just my weird little way of saying, "Hello, nice to meet you, please don't be alarmed."<br/><br/>Honestly, I have no idea why this face keeps fooling people.<br/><br/>Behind my permanently skeptical expression is a petite gray-and-white sweetheart who absolutely loves attention. Start petting me and you'll quickly discover the truth: I'm a purring machine. <br/><br/>Sometimes I get so happy that I drool a little. Dignified? No. Adorable? Absolutely.<br/><br/>I love other cats, too. Sure, I might throw out a hiss or two when meeting someone new, but it's all talk. Before long, I'm chasing toys, wrestling with friends, and acting like we've known each other forever. Think of me as the cat version of someone who says, "I don't want to go to the party," and then ends up being the last one to leave.<br/><br/>I can be a little nervous about being picked up, so I'd appreciate a family that respects my boundaries. Give me some gentle pets, ear scratches, belly rubs, and a cozy hiding spot where I can decompress, and you'll have a loyal little shadow in no time.<br/><br/>Because I'm a sensitive girl, I'd do best in a quieter home without lots of chaos or small children. <br/><br/>A friendly resident cat would be a huge bonus they help me feel confident and remind me that the world isn't nearly as scary as I sometimes think it is.<br/><br/>The biggest mystery in rescue right now is how I'm still available. Maybe everyone keeps getting distracted by my grumpy-looking face and misses the sweet, funny, affectionate cat underneath. Their loss could be your gain.<br/><br/>So if you've ever wanted a tiny cat with the face of a retired bouncer, the heart of a marshmallow, and a personality that's equal parts quirky and lovable, I'm your girl.<br/><br/>Come meet me. I promise I'm much nicer than my face suggests.<br/><br/>Dizzle is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. <br/><br/>Adoption fees are as follows: $175 for a single cat or kitten, $225 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

Animal House of South East Michigan, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Our adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten $195 for a pair of cats or kittens Please note that we do not do same day adoptions and all adoption fees are non-refundable. AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We are also flexible if more time is needed to determine if its the right fit. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
