Meet Disco Snail!<br/><br/>Female I 6 weeks I UTD Vaccines I Dewormed I Will be spayed, microchipped, combo tested for FeLV/FIV, and medically cleared prior to going home. <br/><br/>*As seen in her photos she currently has multiple injuries with her front paw being the primary issue. She will likely be receiving an amputation in the next 2-3 weeks and able to go home after she's recovered from that procedure, end of September/early October.*<br/><br/>Say hello to Disco Snail! This little cutie found herself at one of the nearby rural shelters with a missing paw and degloved back end, as well as a necrotic and partially missing tail. She is still actively receiving wound care and will likely be getting an amputation of that front leg in 2-3 weeks once the degloved back end heals up to ensure it doesn't need attention during the other procedure. We are hoping to get her pre adopted so that she has a spot to land once she's ready to go home! <br/><br/>Personality wise this girl was very shy and nervous upon intake, rightfully so, but has since come out of her shell and meows as soon as she sees her foster parents.<br/><br/>She loves to play with toys and doesn't let her injury slow her down one bit. She is still in quarantine so hasn't had a chance to truly interact with the other kittens yet but paws at them through the panels of her kennel. Due to concerns about Single Kitten Syndrome (SKS), young kittens are not eligible for solo adoption unless there is already a young kitty of similar energy in the home. <br/><br/>What is Single Kitten Syndrome?<br/><br/>Single Kitten Syndrome occurs when young kittens are adopted alone. Without a feline playmate, they may develop behavioral issues such as:<br/><br/> Aggression or anxiety<br/> Inappropriate chewing or scratching<br/> Litter box avoidance<br/> Difficulty adjusting to new pets or children later in life<br/><br/>While not all single kittens experience these challenges, its a common reason cats are rehomed later. The best way to prevent SKS is to adopt kittens in pairs or ensure there is already a playful, compatible cat in the home.
