Dino is a sweet, mellow boy who loves his cat scratcher, cozy naps on the cat tree, and Churu treats. He makes the cutest little sounds when he wants attention or a snack. He is a relaxed, independent cat who does well with the other cats in the room, though he does not really seek them out. Dino enjoys gentle attention from the people he knows and trusts and will accept pets from familiar volunteers. Dino also gets one eye drop in his left eye once a day, and he handles it well, especially with a Churu reward afterward. Dino is available at our South Shore Adoption Center. Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
We ask that everyone in the household meet the potential new furry family member. Come look through the profiles of our residents available at our front counter, and walk a dog or play with a cat. We are always happy to answer questions about a pet and help you decide whether he will be a good fit. If you rent, you will need to supply a copy of your lease stating you are allowed to have pets. If you own, you will need to supply proof of home ownership.   Each animal leaves with its first set of shots, dewormer and flea treatment. All animals are spayed or neutered and microchipped prior to going home. All dog adopters receive a $200 credit toward canine training. You will also receive a health exam certificate that entitles you to a free "healthy pet" checkup at a local veterinarian clinic.  FAAS located at the North end of Grand St at 1590 Fortmann Way. Adoption hours are noon-4PM Tuesday through Sunday. (We are closed Mondays.)
